Really, really seriously, acknowldege the shame and move on. Debt, especially debt to institutions, counts as nothing beside for instance, being a good parent. The CAB won't judge and they won't even bat an eyelid. You would be truly amazed, both at some of the situations they come across and at how much can be achieved by negotiation. Do yourself and your children the favour of sharing your burden. Dave D.
